Who wants to age youthfully?
I think so – if I think about my parents they didn’t really focus on their image as much as their home life and providing for the family. How the generations change – probably due to more 2 working parent familis, more opportunities to ‘get out there’ and travel, explore, meet new people. My parents were happy with their original friends and their family that they didn’t ‘need’ to meet new people.
Also – other than wanting to look and feel great and meet new people, the career and job opportunities are so different to a generation ago. The advertisements for jobs that are out there now I am sure didn’t exist 50 years ago. I can remember when leaving ‘high school’ you could not have imagined some of the jobs that exist now, it seemed such a limited choice to make. I and most of my friends had thoughts about a hairdresser/tradie, teacher, policeman, nurse, typist etc….what??? Were there other jobs??? There is amazing access now through the internet, population growth, networking opportunities through groups and clubs, sporting organisations and everything just the push of a button away. Don’t you love it?
Ah yes – and so many career opportunities that I could not have dreamed about. And then – why do we have to decide on our whole future when we leave school? I went back to University after having my 3 children and was a mature age student in a different field to when I left school at 17. So much pressure sometimes for teenagers to decide ‘what they want to be’ when they leave secondary college that it really is irrelevant. Nowadays, people can change their career many times over and I am doing this now with a youthful aging business that I could not have even anticipated when I left school, or even when I went to University in another direction. This business can take you anywhere and meet anyone and is very exciting and the best thing – I am looking great and feeling great with my own products. A global business promoting youthful aging – inside and out, of course I am ‘loving life’!!
